I hovered above the rain water
Skimming across its surface
As it settled on the ground
Drops from heaven pounded my skin
As I flew through it
The cold air it brought with it
Put tear in my eyes
My nose was cold as ice
As I watched my reflection in the water on the ground
And the hard days take their toll on my mind

I heard your footsteps running through my mind
Like you were on the floor above with floor boards creaking
The pounding patter of you feet echoed so loud
I heard you running down the stairs and trip and fall
I shuddered when I heard you break your neck in my mind
Then I reveled on that I don't know who you even are
I heard you walking up behind me with a gun towards my back
I heard you walking around as I slept in my mind
I heard you in my mind as you ran down the street
I heard you stepping through tall weeds in my mind
I heard your footsteps weighted down by my body in your arms
You dropped my body in an open grave
Then I heard you walk away in my mind
