Trip- by: unknown forgotten

Once in a while
I lose track of time
And forget how I got here
I've seen the roads
I've been on them all
They all look the same
Stretches of concrete, blacktop
That some man layed with his own hands
Many years before I ever walked them
The only ones I can remember
Are the roads that lead to nowhere
Where that worker walked off the edge
Into the distance and uncharted lands
Where the sidewalk ends
It's just a massive maze
That takes you no place
Every destination is always the same

Somebody help me find my way back home
Somebody lead me back to the right road
Somebody who's never left home
Who's never walked on these roads
Who's never taken a wrong turn

Somebody needs to find me
But they'll have to wander out first
Leaving a trail of crumbs
Or get lost too

Perhaps I'll wander into another soul
Perusing these endless hopeless streets
Examining every crack, pebble, or groove
And following the signs
That lead back home

There are so many things
That don't mean anything to me
